What is radiation?

Ans. Radiation is a broad term meaning the emission and propagation of energy in the form of waves through space or through a material medium and also the radiated energy itself. 

What is EMR?

Ans. (Electromagnetic Radiation) is high frequency waves of electrical and magnetic energy moving through space, from radar, radio and TV towers, cell/mobile phone towers, high tension powerlines.

What is EMF?

Ans. (Electromagnetic Fields) are low frequency electric and magnetic fields radiating from alternating electrical current (AC) wiring and electrical appliances.

Ans. EMR and EMF refer to the entire range of the electromagnetic spectrum, from extremely low frequencies to extremely high frequencies. In practice, EMF is used more often than EMR because "radiation" sounds scary and its use may create confusion with more dangerous radiation from X-ray machines and radioactive material. 

Where do EMF/EMR come from?

Ans. EMF/EMR can be either man-made or occur naturally. 

How do (EMF) radiation change the environment?

Ans.Throughout billions of years of earth's evolution, organic life had been exposed only to the naturally occurring electromagnetic field of subtly low frequency range of about 7.8 Hz. However, today's modern technology has dramatically changed the environment and brutally introduced all living organisms to unnatural new high frequencies of electromagnetic radiation emitted by all electrical appliances and gadgets. 

How do (EMF) radiation affect the earth and mankind?

Ans. With the explosion in radio and TV broadcasting industry, radio telephone networks, cordless phones and mobile phones, the density of radio waves and microwaves around us is now many millions of times higher than natural levels. The same applies to Extreme Low Frequency (ELF) fields produced by the dozens of electrical appliances and electronic gadgets in households especially in the industrialized cities. Thus, people around the world are commonly expose to different kinds of radiations.

In what way we can be exposed to EMF radiation? 

Ans. Personal exposure to EMF depends on three things: (1) the strength of the magnetic field sources in your environment, (2) your distance from those sources, (3) and the time you spend in the field.

What can be done to limit EMF exposure?

Ans. If you are concerned about EMF exposure, your first step should be to find out where the major EMF sources are and move away from them, limit the time you spend near them and/or use a shielding material to keep you safe against any harmful energy. 

Is (EMF) radiation harmful to our body?

Ans. These radiation can also be called "invisible killer" because on the short term effects it can cause the function obstacles of central nervous system which can cause many symptoms, such as headaches, dizziness, insomnia and dreaminess, hair loss and etc., - for severe case may cause cancer. The jury however is still out on the long term effects of radiation especially radiation emitted by mobile phone use which is commonly known as radio frequency (RF), while in the meantime governments worldwide and health organizations like the World Health Organization continue to allocate millions of dollars towards on going research to determine the effects of cell phone usage. Epidemiological research examining potential long-term risks from radiofrequency exposure has mostly looked for an association between brain tumours and mobile phone use. However, because many cancers are not detectable until many years after the interactions that led to the tumour, and since mobile phones were not widely used until the early 1990s, epidemiological studies at present can only assess those cancers that become evident within shorter time periods.

How true that using mobile phones these days are far higher risky than previously thought? 

Ans. Non-ionizing radiation of lower frequency ionizing forms such as early cell phones were thought to be safe. That view has changed since cellular phones and mobile phones have grown in strength from low-level radio waves to high-level microwaves. No scientific study has proven conclusively that the use of cellular phones is hazardous to human health, yet continued use of higher frequency phones could adversely affect the central nervous system, diminish the effectiveness of the immune system and facilitate the development of cancer according to scientific research. 

How much radiation does a mobile phone emit?

Ans. Mobile phones emit varying levels of radiation, depending on make and model. Keep in mind that it is possible that radiation vary between different transmission bands and that different bodies can absorbed different amount. Also, it is possible to vary between different editions of the same phone. Radiation on mobile phones penetrate mainly on the head during calls since the distance is so closed. The skull however is designed by God to protect the brain and everything in it but the extent of protection depending on the intensity of disturbance (such as the amount of radiation emitted by cellular phone) from external source.

How do we measure the amount of radiation that the human body absorbs? 

Ans. Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) of Radiation  is used to measure the amount of radiation that the human body absorbs from any source, including cellular phones. SAR provides a straightforward means for measuring the radiofrequency exposure characteristics of cell phones to ensure that they are within the safety guidelines set by the Federal Communication Commission (F.C.C.).

What is considered safe level?

Ans.  For a phone to pass F.C.C. certification, that phone's maximum SAR level must be less than 1.6 W/kg (watts per kilogram). In Europe, the level is capped at 2 W/kg, while Canada allows a maximum of 1.6 W/kg.  The F.C.C. sets limits as to what they deemed were safe levels of radiation from cell phones. In the beginning when analog phones were 800-900 MHZ of power, most of the cell phones manufactured met these safe guidelines. However as manufacturers raised the power of their phones up to 1800-2000MHZ and analog was replaced by digital, the majority of the cell phones now exceed the safe levels set by the F.C.C.

Whether at low or at high frequency level a cellular phone operates, bottom line is "all cellular phones and electronic gadgets emit EMF radiation that can possibly harm our brain and body.

*Scientists at Texas A&M University have found a way to intersperse gold atoms with other atoms in the long molecular chains that make up polymers. By bubbling gas through the gold polymer, it can be expanded into a light foam that reportedly shows great promise as a shielding agent against neutrons and other types of radiation. Dr. John Fackler, director of the program, said the new polymer combines gold with triphenylphosphine, a compound of carbon, hydrogen and phosphorus, in a form that may be suitable for making anti-radiation garments.       2.  Some Uses, Applications and Composition of  Nickel

*Mu Metal is a very high permeability nickel based alloy that is extremely effective at screening low frequency magnetic interference.
